Burgundy
Burgundy is located in the heart of France and is planted mainly with Chardonnay for the production of some of the world’s finest white wine. The producers who are based here are able to offer a huge diversity of wine styles on account of the never-ending combinations of underlying rock, soils and locations of the vineyards.
Sauvignon Blanc
Sauvignon Blanc is a grape varietal originally from France but now grown in many wine making countries of the world. Depending on where it is grown will determine the flavours and characteristics of the wine. Chilean Sauvignon tends to be very fruity with vibrant tropical fruits. Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand (Marlborough region) tend to be very aromatic and have zingy gooseberry and green pepper characters whilst Sancerre (Sauvignon from a region of the Loire Valley in France) are famed for being fresh, citrusy and elegant.
Alsace & Austria
Alsace is one of those regions that is greatly under-appreciated, it makes some amazing white wines and for the quality it offers some of the best bargains. The Pinot Gris is very aromatic loads of vibrant fruits. The Riesling is produced by Weingut Pfaffl (European Winery of the Year 2016) and its very, very easy to like.
Portugal
Vinho Verde is a wine region of Northern Portugal. The white wines are known for being very Fresh, vibrantly fruity and aromatic and for being slightly sparkling. The Casa de Vila Nova is a perfect example.

Gavi is a famous white wine from a particular area in Piedmont, Italy. The vineyards surrounds the city of Gavin itself. The grape variety used is Cortese, known for producing crisp, floral, peachy, aromatic wines. Pinot Grigio is a very popular grape varietal that makes fruity and friendly style of wine.

Wines produced outside of the traditional wine growing countries (mainly Europe) are known as New World wines mainly Argentina, Australia, Chile, New Zealand, South Africa and the USA. They are not new to making wine, some of these countries have been doing that for hundreds of years.

Italy
Primitivo di Manduria is a chunky red made from Primitivo grapes from Puglia in Southern Italy. This particular uses high quality fruit that has been hand-picked and aged in oak for 2 years before bottling. This is a robust red, yet balanced with no rough edges, expect loads of black cherry and spiciness.
Shiraz & Malbec
If you enjoy Shiraz then there is a good chance you also enjoy Malbec. The Soldier’s Block Shiraz is bright, aromatic and juicy (it is actually 95% Shiraz and 5% Malbec). The French Shiraz is loaded with blackberry and blackcurrant yet supple and elegant. Verum Malbec (Patagonia) is a gorgeous drop of artisan red, aged for 6 months in French oak.
Bordeaux
Bordeaux is known for making some of the world’s fine wines. The region is naturally divided by the Gironde river estuary and the wines are therefore called either left or right bank. Chateau Noillac is from a region called Medoc (left bank) and is mainly Cabernet with some Merlot and Petit Verdot. Chateau Clos de la Cure is from a region called Saint-Émilion (right bank) and is mainly Merlot with some Cabernet Franc.
Pinot Noir & Burgundy
Pinot Noir is the grape that stars in some of the world’s most expensive and rare red wines when grown in its home territory of Burgundy. Recently these wines have been increasingly difficult to find at an affordable price but we think that this one offers great value verses quality.
Rhone & Rhone Inspired
The Soumade Cote Du Rhone is made from Grenache and Syrah grapes from one of the best villages in this region called Raster. it is a delicious wine. Priorat is in Catalonia not too far away from Barcelona, the wines here use the same grape varietals found in Rhone.
Rosé Wine
Rosado, pink, blush, white zinfandel all refer to rosé wine which can differ in taste from very dry (Provence) to very sweet (California Zinfandel) – the Pink Pinot is fruity and crisp, the French Rosé is delicious!

Prosecco (only from Veneto in Italy) is younger with brighter, more floral and fruity characters with lighter and frothier bubbles whilst Champagne (only from Champagne in France) has an aged flavour, richer and deeper often with toasty or biscuity tones, the bubbles are persistent, sharp and fine.

The Late Harvest Muscat has intense floral aromas with honey and marmalade flavours. Sweet and luscious, perfect with crème brulee, vanilla and fruit based desserts, excellent with a cheeseboard.
The Banyuls is a smooth and sumptuous sweet red that is amazing with our chocolate puds. It is made by Maison Chapoutier (one of the best producers in the Rhone) from vineyards overlooking the Mediterranean sea using hand-harvested Grenache grapes that have been aged for 16 to 20 months.
